Hi Heidi,

The term invisible mentor was first coined by Washington State University Professor Karen Peterson and she defines it as a unique leader who you can learn things from by observing them. I have taken the phrase and extended it. And with the Internet you can learn so much more about unique leaders. I think that books can act as mentors and in fact I believe we can be mentored by the information that we consume.

I hope this answers your question. Thanks! Avil

Hello Heidi,

I have been experimenting with The Invisible Mentor concept on my blog, which has the same name and I do book reviews and also interview accomplished people (invisible mentors). If you ever feel like being interviewed please let me know. The questions are very detailed and I've been told by interviewees that they appreciated the process because they got to know themselves better. Thanks! Avil
