It is so important that people are trained properly - technical skills , specifically updates and refreshers are great to have on your resume in these tough markets also. my advice to anyone right now is to stay up to date on any regulations that may be going on in your industry, e.g US GAAP -well in 2010 the US will recognise IFRS standards, make sure you know your stuff, dont get caught out!
