good question - are there any members out there working in technology department of an asset management firm who can answer that question?

I know this discussion is almost a year old, but it's a very interesting question. From my experience in the middle office and outsourcing the buy side depends heavily on its agents to have up to date technology. This is especially true in the post trade processing.

Hello, I'm interested in networking with any members who are in the security software sector including encryption. Best, Dorothy

For those of you in Financial Technology, I highly recommend Marie DeFalco, partner with Lowenstein Sandler (for start-up incorporation, legal advisory, etc). We have used her for some of our Firm's work and also recommended our clients to her. Pls contact me if you'd like a direct intro.

Also, the NY Tech Meetup group is terrific. My team and I can serve as a resource for women-owned tech (including software) companies looking for Seed and Series A Financing. We have three female investment bankers on our team and we understand the issues that female entrepreneurs face when raising capital (including from angel investors and VC firms.) www.mid-marketsecurities.com

Hello, my name is Pamela Cytron and I am the CEO of a financial services software company. I have a large amount of experience in raising capital - we struggled for our first round in 2008 - we were successful in the end, but with small amount of VC and a group of Angels. We have disruptive technology for the back-office investment accounting and subledger. Not to Dorthy's comments not security. I too use Lowenstein Sandler and they have been a wonderful firm as our business has grown. We are again seeking a B Round - with a few set of challenges - although we have revenue, happy customers, etc!

Today's profile on Barbara Novick, Vice Chairman at BlackRock, is all about the importance of embracing change. She says: “Companies and industries change, and very often change is an opportunity.”

Technology is a rapidly evolving field- how have you embraced change this year? What can you do to be more open to change in the future?
