Have you crossed paths with anyone who has inspired you this week?

I met one a very inspiring woman last week my friend and fellow blogger Cleo Thompson of PwC invited us to their event marking International Women’s Day and I had the pleasure of hearing Gita Patel of Stargate Capital speak about her Trapezia Fund for women. I don’t want to spoil the surprise so keep reading this week to see the full event coverage.

Have you met anyone inspiring this week?

I came across this interesting website: womenworking.com. It is run by a woman named Helene Lerner. She produces really meaningful television programs among her many other accomplishments. I think it's so great to have good tv programs on the air and it's nice to see that Helene openly supports women.
I was very impressed with the article on Lisa Hughes, the family law attorney who was raised in foster care and now donates so much of her time to pro bono legal services and serving on the board of organizations that represent abused and neglected children. Not only is it impressive that she became a successful lawyer after such a disadvantaged upbringing, but it is equally admirable that she dedicates so much of her time to helping children in the foster care system. Particularly in today's economic climate, I know that it is difficult to make time for pro bono activities, but there are so many people who are deserving of our help as lawyers, and who only need our services more in times of economic crisis. So keep up the inspiring work, Lisa!
Hi - yes! I had coffee today with a fellow female entrepreneur, Monyka Berrocosa, who launched My City 4her an online community for women business owners. We are talking about developing an online show that explores the successes and failures of women in leadership and business. I'll keep you posted as we will be looking for women to profile!

I was also inspired by the incredible work that our client Athletes For Hope, a sports philanthropy movement, did this week for encouraging baseball players at spring training to give back to their community through an appearance by one of their founders, Muhammad Ali! Very inspiring. Check out their FB page:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Athletes-for-Hope/28052826638?ref=ts
i had the privilege of meeting Sheryl WuDunn (albeit last Fall, not this week). She is such an inspiration. She and her husband Nicholas Kristof (New York Times) are working together to increase awareness of disenfranchised women and girls (both in the US and in other countries around the globe).
I got to meet Marie Wilson recently, the CEO of the White House Project, She is amazing. I would encourage everyone on the network to attend the party tomorrow following the EPIC awards. Leadership and Critical mass in all industries will change the world. Here is the link: http://www.thewhitehouseproject.org/epic/afterparty.php
