The Glass Hammer Network

There are thousand of women with great business ideas but don't know how finance their projects.  The government continues to promote the federal grants and SBA Loans, but with many mixed reports; we would like to hear from those who have done.  So, if you have   applied or received a Federal Grant or a SBA Loan and would like to share your experience? Which process did you find less complex or more viable?

I have never applies, but am curious to hear others' responses! Also, there are are lots of states pushing programs similar to the federal - anyone try them out? I do know someone who has started her own business in NJ while still able to collect unemployment while she gets it going...
Thanks for your comments Shayna,

I have been communicating with some SBA specialists from different states and they all agree that SBA has been very good with turnarounds.
There is no such thing as a federal grant for individuals or small companies unless you are participating in special projects.

If you have questions on SBA loans, I can answer them. I've consulted for companies regarding SBA loans for 25 years and used to approve them as a lender.
