 for Research on Women will convene an expert panel event, immediately 
 preceding the Annual Awards Dinner on March 6th. Considered a signatur
 e event, the Afternoon Program 2012 will be entitled, Women 2012: Taki
 ng a Worldwide Reading. Panelists and audience members will share thei
 r vision, insight, strategies, and action steps needed for unlocking w
 omen’s and girls’ potential. Open and free to the public, the prog
 ram will draw participants from every sector and field of expertise. P
 anelists and moderator will be announced on confirmation.The goal of t
 he Afternoon Program 2012 is to provide a forum at which researchers a
 nd members of the corporate, policy, advocacy, philanthropic, and inte
 rnational donor communities as well as multilateral agencies can come 
 together to assess recent major reports such as the U.S. Census 2010, 
 the White House Report on Women in America, the Global Gender Gap Repo
 rt, and The World Bank Gender Report. The panelists will explore the m
 ain findings of these reports, what they actually measure, what is mis
 sing, what more needs to be done, and how we can translate this data i
 nto responsible public policies, nationally and globally.  The paneli
 sts will discuss best practices in building women’s leadership acros
 s sectors, strengthening women’s economic security, decreasing globa
 l poverty, and providing greater investments in women’s education, h
 ealth, and safety nets. Expected outcomes of the program include recom
